Burger Style Vegan Taco “Beef”

Ingredients

  • 8 oz block of Tempeh

  • 1 cup of Walnuts

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder

  • 1 packet of McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix

  • 1/4 cup Water

Directions

  • Preheat your pan
  • In a food processor or blender pulse your tempeh, garlic powder, and onion powder until the mixture is similar in size to ground beef crumbles
  • Pour in your hot pan
  • While to tempeh starts sautéing, in a food processor or blender pulse your walnuts until they are similar in size to ground beef crumbles
  • Mix into your tempeh and sauté until slightly crispy or 5-8 minutes
  • As you sauté slowly add half of your taco seasoning
  • Once your “meat” appears crispy pour the other half of your taco seasoning on to your “meat” mixture
  • Add the water
  • Mix and cook until water is gone

Notes

  • McCormicks Taco Seasoning in completely vegan with no diary, meat, or eggs. There are others out there this is just the most widely available.
